According to European Commission analysis, sometimes the tasks students do in their work experiences abroad do not perfectly match their profile. This is why at ITALYMOBILITY we pay very much attention to make sure that your work experience is focused and consistent with your vocational background. Before you come we speak and exchange documents with you and with your professors and we select the company according to your objectives

It is clear that while you live in a different country you improve your language and social skills, even without speaking local language, because you will meet, anyway so many different people. Nevertheless, we recommend that you sign up for an Italian language course because it will give you the opportunity to better approach local culture and people and therefore feel much more enriched at the end of your stay

Sometimes it is difficult to leave home for a long time, but experience shows that the first weeks goes spent on getting to know your new working environment and it takes a little while to learn how to spend your competencies. That’s why we suggest to plan a work experience abroad for a duration over 2 months.

Try do adopt a competence based approach: it is important that at the end of your work experience you can tell what abilities you have learnt. That’s why we produce to students coming to Italy the EUROPASS MOBILITY CERTIFICATE which contains a declaration from the company about what you have done and what you have learnt during your work experience

Active approach: you should start thinking in terms of your own learning objectives. Maybe in your school you study many things, but you may feel you are good at or you want to specialize in one particular aspect.

The earlier you start this process, the better. Although we can support you even on the spot, generally, it takes time to find a suitable company and a reasonable accommodation etc. so better no LAST MINUTE !!
